WILLIAM A. TALBOT
Founder
William Talbot, known as Bill to his friends and colleagues and called “Granddad” by his family, was born in Barking, Essex in 1932. He watched the Battle of Britain from his backyard and toured his neighborhood after aerial raids.
After finishing school at 14, he became an apprentice electrician and met his future wife Mildred. He served in the British Army and immigrated to the US in 1958. He worked in a design and engineering office before becoming the Chief Electrical Engineer at Tarapata, MacMahon & Associates. He eventually earned his journeyman license and in 1971, purchased McGee Electric, which he renamed The Talbot Corporation, now run by his son Stephen and grandson Michael.
A skilled draftsman, Bill continued to contribute to our designs by hand until his passing in 2019.
Bill has been responsible for the company's growth and development over the years and continues to inspire excellence in everyday operations.

President
Steve began helping out on weekends in the company warehouse at the age of 10 and learned manual estimating methods from his father. He was estimating large projects as a teenager and later developed considerable AutoCAD skills to propel the company’s design-build project emphasis and growth. Steve worked for a large NECA contractor in Los Angeles in the early 1980’s before returning to Michigan to work with his father and eventually assume ownership of The Talbot Corporation.
Steve leads the company’s engineering and administrative operations and is a licensed Master Electrician and licensed Professional Engineer. He holds a BSEE degree from the University of Michigan-Dearborn and also owns and operates Talbot Associates, P.C., a separate electrical consulting engineering firm.
MICHAEL TALBOT
Vice President
Mike is the third generation of Talbots to work for The Talbot Corporation. He has over a decade of experience in electrical design, estimating, and project management. He started at the firm as a delivery driver, taking material orders, and supporting electricians in the field. Later he worked alongside his grandfather, digitizing Bill’s hand-drawn drawings in AutoCAD.
Mike is very skilled with McCormick estimating software and manages the company’s field operations. Mike is now a co-owner of the business with Steve and enjoys working with his father in the design, estimation, and management of our projects.
